Halloween Event was great...Now what?
I thought it was really fun. My entire guild (who left guild wars because it no longer appealed) got back on! It was crazy almost everyone was back on in the same dist loving the whole Mad King thing. We all went back twice durring the day getting our helmets back for our other characters and collecting items. Needless to say it was really fun. (Thanks devs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
But now what? The game is back to normal and just well a bit boring. I'm not saying we should always have elaborate decorations for Lions Arch, but we really need more events more often. There were almost 200 districts! It wouldn't hurt to have them more often and more creative ideas instead of 1 for every major holiday which is stretched out within the year. And it'd be cool if these events had somehting to do with the story rather then holidays alltogehter.

i agree, lions arch looks much better now then it ever did before, the game was rely fun, but quite repetative some times, i also think it should be avaible all year round.. incase you get bored of fighting for a while.

It probably couldnt be too often. I'm sure it takes a long time to create something like that.

No, I don't mean the same event over and over. That'd get pretty lame fast.

I was just thinking that it'd be something to pull up quick with no decorations needed.

What I want now, is for LA to go back to normal. The mobs and lag in all of the districs just waiting for the king is annoying.
HE IS NOT COMING BACK! :crash:

Ok lets say: on selling the 4 special halloween items to a trader the Mad King spawns somewhere on the map outside the town... for your party only! He is surrounded by his elite guards and on slaying him he drops a super rare item! What about that? (does that sound familliar to anybody?)

Have special merchants drop into LA on occasions...like every weekend. He would sell fireworks, treats like the halloween items and items of clothing (but please let them have AL anet!).
I'd like to go hunting with a funny costume on and not take the extra damage. Please...

I think the halloween LA was great. Now that it is going, the best way to compensate for restoration of boring districs always looking the same, well dynamic weather.
Night and day would be awesome, and rain or high waters in LA would be cool.
Sandstorms in the desert, blizzards in the shiverpeaks, and even volcanic eruptions in the ring of fire, forcing everyone into reinforced towers or to die by lava.
Even with dynamic weather, they can do holiday stuff, and add more to it. For example, on christmas: Only at night do reindeer appear in the sky.
Anyway, I am rushed, i may have to edit this post to make more sense later.
I cant wait till christmas!

I personally would love to see some "limted time only" type quests, maybe only available over a weekend or something. The rewards dont have to be huge, make it something limted, something to remember the fact that the player/team participated in the event.
I envison a really challenging mission that is only open for 48 hours, and those guilds/teams/players (unsure which would be better) who complete it have thier names added to a landmark or monument or something...
either way, halloween was great and I hope the devs continue to bring fresh ideas into the game on a regular basis.

....or we could all say 'Thanks' and be glad that we play a game were the "dev team" is creative and kind enough to go to all that trouble and time to give us an extra little treat <-- once and awhile. They could just soak us for our 50+ dollars and leave us till the second chapter comes out.
I say, "Thanks ANet for the fun evening and a great game!." and leave it at that, knowing that they are always trying to create new ways to keep the game fresh and fun.

Its a very good point!
if they can overhaul lions arch with just a 2.5mb update, imagine what little changes could be made around the entire map...
What is more un-beleivable is that all this was FREEEE... I feel like there is a mistake somewhere, like I've just walked out of a shop without paying for something. I would have happily paid a few quid to help fund such an event.
Everyone seems to think there will be a christmas event, can A-NET pull something else off equally entertaining, free and at the same time develop Chapter 1?

Im sure there was a very good reason, and I really do feel for you, and everyone else that has missed it.. it was the best haloween I have personally had for years!
But, I wont be feeling TOO sorry for these people, as ANY loyal Guildwars fan would have known SOMETHING was going to happen this weekend.
and particularly to those who went off to play other games and didnt get a Haloween Event... (Like CoH).. I say..
HA HA!!! sux to be you!!
Now, How much are you willing to pay for my Items? xD

I almost missed it. Hurricance Wilma knocked out power to 3.2 million out of 4 million of Florida Power and Light total customer base. http://www.fpl.com/storm/contents/wilma_outage.shtml Luckilly, after 7 days without power my area was restored on Monday afternoon. I logged on immediately, DSL was working fine, and within 20 minutes or so the Mad King came.
